Ajax Cape Town were held to a goalless draw by Tuks in their Absa Premiership clash on Wensday night.
The hosts made a good start to the game, enjoying the early possession and creating a few half-chances.
Toriq Losper caused problems for Washington Arubi in the 15th minute as he pressured the near post and hammered a shot on target, but the Tuks keeper was up to the task.
The visitors had a good chance a few minutes later when Atusaye Nyondo was through on goal but Abel Mabaso denied him in the nick of time.
Ajax were awarded a penalty in the 28th minute as Nathan Paulse was brought down in the area, but he failed to convert it. Arubi pulled off an excellent save.
There was a moment of controversy in the 31st minute when frustrated Tuks coach Sammy Troughton was sent to the dressing room after arguing with the referee.
Ajax came close to opening the scoring just past the hour mark when Erwin Isaacs had a go at goal, but his attempt went over the bar.
Here’s how they lined up:
Ajax: February, Mabaso, Coetzee, Lebusa, Ncube, Mdabuka, Isaacs, Scott, Paulse, Losper, Cale.
