Chelsea finally got back to winning ways in the Premier League when they beat Arsenal 2-0 at Stamford Bridge – but it was a game once again marred by controversy
Kurt Zouma and Eden Hazard got the goals, but the moment that defined the match came just before the break when Gunners defender Gabriel was shown a straight red card.
The build-up to the incident started well before when Diego Costa slapped Laurent Koscielny across the face; an act missed by referee Mike Dean.
Gabriel stepped in to ease the tension, but then got involved with Costa before allegedly kicking out at the Brazil striker and being sent off.
Zouma got the opener shortly after the break, heading home a Cesc Fabregas free-kick, before Hazard rounded things off with a late strike that deflected off Calum Chambers.
