Kaizer Chiefs’ head coach, Steve Komphela, has heaped praise on young Lorenzo Gordinho following his performance against SuperSport United, as well as Camaldine Abraw and his captain.
Speaking to the Amakhosi’s website following the 4-1 victory over SuperSport, Komphela spoke highly of both Gordinho and Abraw, two players who have not had much game time under his tenure so far.
Gordinho came in to deputise for the injured Erick Mathoho, while Abraw came on as a second half substitute to make his debut for the Glamour Boys.
Komphela said, “Gordinho came to the party, so did Camaldine Abraw after coming on for Siphelele Mthembu.”
He also praised his captain, Siphiwe Tshabalala, who has helped maintain his unbeaten start and grabbed another goal at the weekend, saying, “Shabba is carrying the armband with aplomb.”
It remains to be seen whether Mathoho will recover from injury in time to face Ajax Cape Town in this weekend’s MTN8 final, however it appears that Komphela will have no qualms in leaving Gordinho in there should he be needed.
