Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly parted ways with Itumeleng Khune and Tefu Mashamaite due to the pair’s seemingly exorbitant salary demands.
Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Khune, who has been strongly tipped with a move to Premiership rivals Mamelodi Sundowns, is believed to have asked for more than double his current R3.9 million-per-year wages to remain at Naturena.
Meanwhile, 2014/15 PSL Player, Players’ Player and Defender of the Season Mashamaite, who captained Amakhosi to a Premiership and MTN8 double this season, is believed to be on his way to a club in Belgium.
Reports in Sunday World claimed the pair ‘were sent packing by club bosses after their negotiations for new contracts acrimoniously collapsed this week.
‘Khune, who was earning R3.9-million per season, was now demanding R8.4-million per annum and more millions in a signing-on fee to extend his stay at Naturena.’
