Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has
revealed striker Alvaro Morata, who is
wanted by Manchester United and Arsenal,is keen to leave the Bernabeu this summer.
Morata, the Spain under-21 international, is arguably the most coveted young player in Europe with United and Arsenal among a five-strong pack of clubs, including Inter Milan,Wolfsburg and Juventus, who are tussling for his signature.
The Real Madrid academy graduate had limited first-team opportunities last term – he started only three times in La Liga – but still scored eight goals in 558 minutes of top-flight action.
Now Ancelotti has handed Arsenal and United a boost by intimating that the 21-year-old has his heart set on a move away from the capital club this summer.
He told AS: “The footballer wants to find an opportunity to play more minutes and the club agrees with this.”
Ancelotti, who has been heavily linked with a big-money move for Liverpool star Luis Suarez, also says the club will sign a new forward if Morata leaves.
He added: “If Morata leaves we have to think of a similar forward with the same characteristics, a young man.”
